Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among men and women in Poland, with about 21,000 deaths annually. Lung cancer screening (LCS) of high-risk populations has been demonstrated to save lives by shifting diagnosis to earlier stages, where there is a higher cure rate. Little analysis has been published on the potential impacts of LCS on the Polish population. This paper discusses a 15-year projection of the high-risk Polish population associated with smoking history, using the framework of a previously published model. Sections include:

  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Model
  • Key parameters and assumptions evaluation
  • Model outcomes
  • Cost analysis
