Analysis of insurers’ Solvency and Financial Condition Reports: UK domestic medical insurers and IPMI markets
This report analyses information provided in the Solvency and Financial Condition Reports (SFCRs), which European medical insurers and other carriers are required to publish under Solvency II. Our focus was on health insurers with domestic medical insurance business in the United Kingdom (UK). In addition, we included European insurers selling primarily international private medical insurance (IPMI) products. The analysis underlying this report focused on the quantitative information contained in the public Quantitative Reporting Templates (QRTs). Where relevant, we studied the SFCRs to gain some additional insights into certain companies, in particular if they displayed characteristics that differed from the market average.
